Thought for the Day:

Beauty lies within you no matter what age you are, do something that makes you feel beautiful today.

We grow older and too often we don’t realize where the time went. Here’s a small reminder to stop and take a day to breath in the world around you. This video is of people in the city of Amsterdam, a great documentary!

Finding a Balance to Balance your Life

Thursday, November 5, 2015 - 07:30

Thought for the Day:

Changing your routine may seem impossible but someday it will be inevitable, change it for the positive sooner.

The new year is approaching and this is a good article to help yourself to gain your balance. Too often we neglect ourselves, which may make us outstanding beings to others but think about it this way: Wouldn’t you be more useful to others with a balance in life. Try meditating, which can mean taking 30 minutes before bed. Put your phone to silent and try some of these.

  • Listen to relaxing music
  • Refresh your mind with a challenging puzzle
  • Read a book
  • Sit in silence
  • Massage yourself
  • Stretch your muscles

Volunteering, Good for the Body and Soul

Tuesday, November 3, 2015 - 07:30

Thought for the Day:

Hard work may not seem fun but it greatly prepares us for the unknown future. It’s amazing to look back and think...”I’m glad I learned that back then”.

Volunteering may look good on your resume but it’s also good for the body and soul.

The author of this page asks you to ask yourself these questions before starting:

“What have I done in the past that I’ve enjoyed?”
“What do I want to do as a volunteer — and what would I rule out doing?”
“How much time can I commit?”
“What talents or skills can I offer?”
“What kinds of people do I want to work with?”
“What would I most like to learn by volunteering?”

Sometimes it is Just a Matter of Time

Sunday, November 1, 2015 - 07:30

Thought for the Day:

Sometimes there’s a garden waiting to flourish under what appears to be hopelessness. Never give up.

You would never guess that a desert could look so alive. This desert received the right amount of rain and circumstances to change its appearance (if only for a little while).

A beautiful display of nature that can be taken advantage of. Look and focus on the the beauty around you!.

Don't be Afraid to Feel Bad

Thursday, October 29, 2015 - 07:30

Thought for the Day:

You may think knocking someone down is in their best interest but don’t forget the important part of picking them back up.

NFL player knocked down, picked back up.

They were both playing the game and both knew the risks, still he felt guilty for the suffering that was caused from a tackle. While the race of these two NFL players shouldn’t have anything to do with anything, it’s still nice to see something like this.

Thought for the Day:

Most of the time it is best to make your own opinions instead of listening to others.

The cop doesn’t issue a ticket however, he issues car seats instead. A man down on luck received a pleasant surprise when he was expecting a ticket. This is just one of many stories about the good deeds our Police Departments do behind the scenes.
